Swedish TV today showed how to carry a baby with a cloth. I also used this method when my children were babies, but later adopted the Ghanaian technology and even made a YouTube video of how to carry a baby Ghana style.

I`ve been wondering how old the child has to be before you can carry them on the back like that? How are newborns carried for instance?

Before being carried on back, the baby’s neck has to be supported. Small babies also sleep a lot. In Ghana, babies are swaddled in a cloth and carried at all times, put down only when they sleep if that. I have also seen smaller babies being carried on the back with support for their necks, but not sure how safe that is. Best of luck!
